NCTS Volunteers for Gleaners Food Bank of Indianapolis
NCTS partnered with Gleaners to help fight hunger in Indianapolis.
While volunteering, NCTS students worked as a team to package 22,400 pounds of food.
As a result of this team effort, 560 Indianapolis families will receive care packages from Gleaners.
"I learned that it is better to think about others before yourself." -Kourtney
"Volunteering at Gleaners was a lot of work. We packed enough boxes to feed about 550 families. It was a lot of work, but knowing that I was helping people, made it all worth it. If we had another chance to volunteer at Gleaners, I would do it again. I think everyone should visit and volunteer." -Kordell
"This field trip really made me think about what life must be like for working moms. It must be long and tiring. I am glad I got to help by stocking and lifting boxes of food and preparing the boxes for shipping. The field trip was a great experience." -Cordell
"Gleaners was a very fun experience, and I hope that one day I can do it all again." -Cameron
"I had a huge blast on this field trip. I found it extremely cool that I was helping others and giving back to others! I hope to do this again sometime soon. Volunteering was a great way to start off this new year, 2014!" -Victoria
